Japan Postpones FIT Cuts by Six Months for Projects over 2 MW

A reduction of the feed-in tariff to ¥21/kWh (around US$0.19) for projects over 2 MW in size and approved between 2012 and 2014 will be applied starting from September 2019 and not from March, as originally planned. For approved projects with a capacity of less than 2 MW, however, no postponement has been granted.

Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has extended the deadline for its planned FIT cuts for large-scale solar projects that were approved between 2012 and 2014, from March 31, 2019, to September 30, 2019. The plan to cut FITs in March for projects under 2 MW remains, however.

The deadline for the grid-connection of projects over 2 MW has also been postponed by another six months, to September 30, 2020. As such, the developers that are able to finalize their projects by this date will receive FITs of either ¥40 ($0.35), ¥36 or ¥32/kWh.

METI said in a statement that the FIT reduction will affect around 23.5 GW of capacity approved between 2012 and 2014, which represents roughly 44% of the total capacity of approved PV projects under the scheme. In an earlier statement to pv magazine, the Japan Photovoltaic Energy Association said it estimated the combined capacity of the projects to be around 20 GW.

U.S. research firm Fitch Solutions Macro Research recently said in a report that it expects to see a further 17 GW of solar PV plants connected to the Japanese grid by 2020.

The decision to provide developers with more time to finalize their projects followed concerns raised by investors and developers about the timeline of the cuts. In a joint statement, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce for America, Australia-New Zealand, Canada and France, and the European Business Council called on the country’s government to ease the conditions for the FIT reduction.

They claimed an abrupt cut, which makes no distinction between assets that have achieved development or construction milestones and which have credible sponsors, and projects that lack such attributes, would undermine confidence in the security, stability and predictability of Japanese market rules.

Antaisolar: Provided Pile Ground Solar Racking for the 2.2MW Project in South Korea

The Buyeo Dugokri 2.2MW in South Korea was completed last month. Antaisolar provided ground pile solar mounting system for the project, which could be adjusted in east-west direction.

According to the requirements of the clients and taking into account the local conditions, Antaisolar engineers first gave a solution of double piles. Later, considering the cost optimization, engineers analyzed the data again and put forward adjustable single pile mounting system with designed wind speed 28M/S, snow pressure 0.5KN/sqm, angle setting at 18 degrees, which is flexible and adjustable. Jaegang Electricity Co., Ltd takes charge of this project and covers the installation with Miso Design.

Besides, high degree of pre-assembly components can save on-site installation time; safe and reliable structure design can withstand the worst local climatic conditions; Taking all factors and the actual requirements of the clients as the starting point, to provide them with the best solution, is the business attitude that Antaisolar always adheres to.

Why are Korean projects of high quality keep coming?

According to the statistics from the overseas sales team , Antaisolar has provided solar mounting solutions for nearly 10 cases of Korean cases since October this year.

The Korean market is undoubtedly the highlight of the global PV market in 2019, whether it is driven by the current policies-related PV industry or South Korea's geographical resources. It is also meaningful for Antaisolar to develop a good relationship with Korean local excellent agent in 2018. In the future, Antaisolar will continue to provide Korea with a stable and reliable solar solutions to boost  Korea's renewable energy development!

Antaisolar- Offer Solar Racking for One Gas Station Roof Project in Philippines

Gas station roof turned into PV power station

Antaisolar provided roof mounting system for a gas station located in Antipolo, Philippines. This project was handled by SolarTech Renewable Solutions, who is the distributor of Antaisolar in Philippines. Besides, this project is the first one after both sides achieving friendly cooperation. The 50KW roof project adopted L bracket and corresponding accessories with estimated annual power generation of 57,000kWh.

The installation of a distributed PV power generation system on the roof of the existing gas station can not only meet the electricity demand but also upload the surplus power generated by the PV power to the power grid, which is a new profit model for the existing gas station to help it create more benefits.

Successfully partnered with SolarTech Renewable Solutions

Antaisolar has long been committed to the global layout. With the rapid growth of business volume, Antaisolar have been successfully provided solar rackings for utility projects such as hospitals, schools, seaports and so on. Since then, it seems that cooperating with local distributors or agents to provide products more conveniently and efficiently has naturally become a must.

As the first solar racking enterprise of China to enter the Japanese market, Antaisolar will continue to focus on the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” while keeping deepening its mature market so as to become the superb enterprise in high-quality development of new energy.

As a Chinese company that ranked first in export volume in the Japanese market for many years, Antai became the only Chinese solar mounting system manufacturer to be interviewed.

This monthly magazine mainly interviews Chinese PV companies with a leading market share in Japan, and reviews the ups and downs of China's PV manufacturing industry in the past 20 years.

In the past 2017, Antai's solar mounting system accumulated shipments exceeded 1GW, of which the Japanese market accounted for 50%, China accounted for 20%, and other markets such as Southeast Asia and Australia accounted for 30%, undoubtedly reflecting the market competitiveness of Antai’s products.

Opportunity coexist with strength make products popular in the Japanese market

Since entering the Japanese market in 2011, Antaisolar has been making great strides in the exploration of market. Due to the FIT legislation formulated by the Tokyo, high subsidies for on-grid tariffs have led to the strong development of the solar market. It is under this opportunity that Antai eventually won widespread recognition from the Japanese market for its years of experience in R&D and production of aluminum profiles and its adherence to high quality products.

Never forget why you started and layout the world

In the interview, Ms. Huang Liqin, the general manager of Antaisolar, claimed that no matter how volatile the market competition is, always insisting on product quality is the basic literacy of a company. Furthermore, Antaisolar has a complete industrial chain of aluminum profiles that integrates casting, extrusion, oxidation, and finishing of aluminum. It can control product quality from the material side. Under the circumstance of guaranteeing quality, trying to control costs is a conscience of an enterprise. Antaisolar will optimize and upgrade products from the material side and continue to provide global customers with high-quality, convenient, and efficient solar mounting solutions.
